 m of our lives and our environments. Over thousands of years\, many storie
 s and many different traditions of telling them have evolved and disappear
 ed. One such 400-year-old tradition\, on the brink of extinction today\, i
 s the Kaavad Katha from Rajasthan that brings together storytelling and vi
 sual craft to portray religious\, mythological\, social and contemporary n
 arratives. Traditionally\, the form uses a portable wooden box (also calle
 d a kaavad) that serves as a visual aid. Each box holds numerous stories t
 hat are brought to life by specialised storytellers.    \n\nThis month
 ’s Stories at MAP series brings Interconnected Tales – a session that 
 explores this unique storytelling tradition with theatre artist Akhshay Ga
 ndhi. Through this session\, children get introduced to the fundamental pr
 inciples of this rich tradition\, the craft of story building\, and its pe
 rformative aspects. They also get to make and take back their own kaavads!
  \n\nStories at MAP is a series that is based on connecting art\, storyte
 lling\, and our lived realities. \n\nSuitable for children between the ag
 es 8 to 12 years. This is a paid event with limited seats available.
